This series captures my attempt at photographing New Jersey’s High Point Monument in front of the setting sun, a composition made possible by careful planning in the PhotoPills app. At a distance of 11 miles, the size of the monument is significantly smaller than that of the sun. This may not be ideal for the type of composition I was seeking, but the wide open farmland of Pine Island provided a very large window of opportunity, making it more likely to capture the scene with at at least one remarkable sunset.
